Who we are
CV Creator is a product of Tech-Fit Technologies, a South African business. We are the responsible party for the personal information you give us through this website.
Tech-Fit Technologies88 Bordeaux Drive, Randburg, South Africa
Our Information Officer is registered with the Information Regulator and can be reached at info@tech-fit.co.za. This policy is written to comply with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- The details you type into the CV builder — your name, contact details, location, work history, education and skills.
- Your email address — so we can send you the CV you bought and a link to download it again.
- Payment reference information from PayFast — confirmation that your payment succeeded, and its reference. We never see or store your card details; PayFast handles the payment itself.
- Your consent choices — whether you agreed to us processing your details, and whether you opted in to marketing emails, with the date and time.
Why we collect it
To generate and deliver the CV and cover letter you purchased, and to give you access to re-download them for 30 days. That is the whole purpose. We do not use your information for anything else unless you have separately opted in (see Marketing below).
Who else processes your information
We use these service providers to run CV Creator. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Anthropic — receives the CV details you enter, in order to generate your CV and cover letter text.
- Supabase — the database that stores your information during the 30-day period.
- Vercel — hosts the website.
- PayFast — processes your R49 payment.
- Resend — sends the email containing your documents link.
Some of these providers operate outside South Africa, which means your personal information may be processed in other countries.
We do not sell your information or train AI on your CV
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not use your CV data to train AI models. Our AI provider (Anthropic) does not train their models on data submitted through their API.
How long we keep it
Your CV details, generated documents, email address and session information are permanently deleted 30 days after you create them. This runs automatically — you do not need to ask.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails (such as CV tips and product updates) if you actively ticked the optional marketing box — we record the date and time you did so. It is never bundled into your purchase, and never ticked for you. The email we send to deliver your CV is a different thing: it is part of the service you bought.
You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing info@tech-fit.co.za.
Cookies and analytics
The cookies needed to make the site work (for example, keeping track of your CV while you build it) are always on. We only load analytics — which set their own cookies — if you choose “Accept” on our cookie notice. Choose “Decline” and no analytics are loaded at all. You can change your mind at any time from the link in the footer.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix information that is wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information.
- Objection — object to us processing your information, on reasonable grounds.
The fastest way to delete everything is the “Delete my data now” link on your download page or on your documents page. It removes your CV, your generated documents and your session immediately. You can also email info@tech-fit.co.za for any of the rights above.
Complaining to the Information Regulator
If you believe we have handled your personal information unlawfully, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). We would appreciate the chance to put it right first, but you are not required to come to us before complaining.
